Route 401 was created from my want (scratch that - need) to be hands-on and creative. I first made a license plate Map of Canada for myself one weekend. I bought the plates from all the provinces myself and began cutting. It was a weekend project for my home and a great learning experience. All of my techniques I use while cutting I taught myself - just me and a pair of tin snips.
After posting around social media, I saw that people actually wanted to buy my creation. I decided to make more and open up an Etsy shop in summer of 2013. I now participate yearly in tradeshows to sell my art in person and online on this website. I also am the co-founder of Good for Sunday, one of the best online stores to buy made in Canada clothing. It's very important for me to support our local community, so we've built a brand that sources products ethical manufacturing right here in Canada.
